Lt-Gen Myint Swe of Ministry of Defence visited briefing hall of Road Construction Special Group-16 of Public work at the junction of No-5 Highway of Hlaing Thayar Township and Hlaing Thayar-Dala-Tontae road on 9th March. After hearing report on asphalting of road and giving necessary instructions, Lt-Gen Myint Swe inspected asphalting of Pan Hlaing bridge approach road, durability of Tontae Bridge, asphalting and construction of road island at the junction of Hlaing Thayar-Dala road and Dala- Tontae road. Then, he attended opening ceremony of Refresher Course on Promotion of Public Health at Kawt Hmu Township People's Hospital.

He then inspected constructed school building of Basic Education High School in Kawt Hmu and bore piling of Tarwa creek crossing bridge in Tontae. Later, Lt-Gen Myint Swe met local farmers and coordinated essential in TawTho village. He then inspected Mya Go-Maubin road and fishing breeding in Adon village. At the briefing hall, he heard report on renovation of Mya Go- Maubin road and coordinated essentials.

Deputy Minister for Construction U Tint Swe visited construction site of Ayeyawady Bridge (Nyaungdon) being built by Special Project Group-5 on 9th March. He inspected bole piling of the bridge in both NyaungDon and Pathein sides. In the briefing hall, the Superintending Engineer of Special Project Group-5 reported on progress of work and future plans. After that, the Deputy Minister left instructions. The Deputy Minister then went to construction project of Yarzudaing Bridge No.1 located on Maubin-YayleKalay¬Shwetaungmyaw-Kyaikpi-Mawlamyaingkyun road. In the briefing hall, the Deputy Minister heard reports on salient point of the bridge and fulfilled the needs. Then, he inspected the project site.

Up to 27th February 2010 during the poppy cultivation season in 2009-2010, a total of 13,3,90.09 acres of poppy were destroyed in States and Divisions. From 28th February to 6th March, a total of 352.3 more acres of poppy plantations were destroyed in States and Divisions. Therefore, total acres of destroyed poppy plantation amounted to 13, 742.39 acres. Among 352.3 acres of poppy, 35acres of poppy were destroyed in Tangyan, Kutkai and Namkham townships in Shan State (North), 253.75 acres in Phekhon, Hsihsang and Pinlaung townships of Shan State (South) and 63.55 acres in Mongphyat, Mongton, Mongpin and Monghsat townships in Shan State (East).
