On 4th January, Minister for Construction Maj-Gen Saw Tun and officials inspected progress of upgrading and extension of NayPyiTawPyinmana-PinLaung road and coordinated the requirements. The Minister also inspected Lane Li suspension bridge near Lane Li village where officials of special construction group-9 explained progress of building the bridge and earth work for the approach bridges. After hearing the reports, the Minister coordinated the requirements. Lane Li bridge is steel-framed suspension bridge linking Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana and Pin Laung. Upon completion, it will be 1,760 ft long and it can bear 75 tons of loads.

Hailing the 61st Anniversary Independence Day for 2009, waterfall and suspension bridge in Nay Pyi Taw Water Fountain Garden and a new asphalt road constructed by Nay Pyi Taw City Development Committee were opened with the ceremony, Monday.

At the ceremony, Commander of NayPyiTaw Command Maj-Gen Wai Lwin, Minister for Progress of Border Areas and National Races and Development Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw Mayor Col. Thein Nyunt and Minister for Forestry Brig-Gen Thein Aung formally opened the waterfall located in Nay Pyi Taw Water Fountain Garden and the Commander unveiled the signboard. They next viewed the cave of waterfall.

The opening of suspension bridge in Nay Pyi Taw Water Fountain Garden then continued where Commander Maj-Gen Wai Lwin and Minister Mayor Col. Thein Nyunt and Minister for Transport Maj-Gen Thein Swe formally opened the bridge. The Commander next unveiled the signboard of the bridge. They later crossed over the bridge. The Commander and the Minister also attended the opening of new Bo Taut Htein asphalt road of NayPyiTaw Pyinmana and formally opened the road. They then strolled along the road.

Minister for Immigration and Population Maj-Gen Saw Lwin received Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the Union of Myanmar Mr. Turki Bin Naji Abdul Kadir Al Ali at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 4th January.
