The government is making all-out efforts for eradication of narcotic drugs as drug menace poses a grave danger to the entire mankind. Myanmar is co-operating with international community and countries in the region in the fight against drugs. And remarkable progress has been made in this regard. Myanmar has been able to bust even a big drug gang that is interrelated with international drug rings.

Myanmar with or without foreign assistance will continue making strenuous efforts in the fight against drugs based on its own resources. Heroin was seized from a passenger who was bound for Bangkok at Yangon International Airport at 8.25 am on 22 May.

Kuo Mei Ling, 26, of China (Taipei) who was about to board TG-304 Flight of Thai Airways was arrested at Yangon International Airport together with 0.85 kilo of heroin with a street value of some K 6.8 million hidden in her body.
