Present at the ceremony for exchanging arms for peace together with Brigade Commander U Gon Khay were Deputy commander U Kham Shan, commanding officers U Sai Hsaung, U Sai Tun, U Sai Taw and U Sai Chan and 325 members. The exchange of arms for peace by the Brigade 19 of SSNA has brought peace not only to national brethren living in Nampaung region but also to those in the entire Shan State (North). At such a time when neocolonialists are trying to drive a wedge among national brethren by pretending that they want to serve the interests of the latter, it is necessary for the national brethren to stand united under the leadership of the government. The ceremony for exchanging arms for peace in Nampaung Village, Lashio Township in Shan State (North) manifests the desire of the people and the government to be always in oneness with each other, whoever is trying to do whatever to drive a wedge between them. We believe that eternal peace will prevail in all the regions where arms have been exchanged for peace and, as a result, it will be possible to accelerate the momentum of regional development endeavours. |
