Tatmadaw, Myanmar Police Force and the Customs Department exposed 278 cases of narcotic drugs in March 2006.

They seized 155.3828 kilos of opium in 44 cases, 59.5451 cases of heroin in 99 cases, 1.5348 kilos of opium oil in 14 cases, 4.3279 kilos of low grade opium in 19 cases, 4.532 kilos of marijuana in 12 cases, 1,532,228 stimulant tablets in 48 cases, 0.0s051 kilo of stimulant power in one case, 8.188 kilos of opium speciosa in nine cases, 0.075 litre of cough syrup, 0.0002 kilo of stimulant solid (ice), 24 cases in failure to register and eight other cases.

Action was taken against 441 persons — 340 men and 101 women — in 278 drug-related cases.
