Members of YeU Township National League for Democracy of Sagaing Division U Mya Sein, U Tin Swe, U Kyaw Tun, U Kyaw Tin, U Chit Sein, U San Ba, U Daung Yi and U Nyo Seint of Sagaing Division, of their own volition, resigned from the party on 24 May 2006, members U Sein Ya, U Soe Myint, U Tin Aung and U Sein Thin on 28 May, members U Kyaw Myint and U Soe Win Naing on 29 May, members U Than and U Shwe on 30 May, U Myint Than, U Than, U Tun Myaing and U Hla Ohn on 1 June, members U Tun Hlaing, U Thein Tan, U Khin Maung Win and U Myint Aung on 2 June, members U Nyo Win, U Kaung Aye and U Kan Nyunt on 3 June, Township NLD Chairman U Tin Maung and Secretary U Chit Hmwe on 4 June, and sent the letters of resignation to NLD headquarters and local authorities.

In their resignations sent to Sagaing Division Multiparty Democracy General Election Sub-Commission, they stated that they lost interest in the NLD and had no more belief in the party. Therefore, they of own volition resigned from the membership of the party.

Likewise, Vice-Chairman U Hsan and U Tun Win of YeU Township NLD, Sagaing Division, had also resigned from the party of own volition. So far, 31 persons had resigned from YeU Township NLD.
