The fifth destruction of seized narcotic drugs, precursors, chemicals and paraphernalia was held in Lashio, Shan State (North) on 19^th March 2005.

554.811 kilos of poppy seeds, 334.53 kilos of heroin, 225.5 kilos of opium, 57 kilos of morphine, 6.98 kilos of opium oil solid, 4.19 liters of opium oil, 646.35 kilos of stimulant tablets, 173 kilos of ephedrine, 12282.04 litres of chemical liquid, 7163.3 kilos of chemical powder and paraphernalia totaling 78 items worth 4,000 million kyats were destroyed.

There have been 18 occasions of destruction of seized narcotic drugs in Myanmar between 1990 to 2004 valued at 14,452 million US dollars.
