Member of Mongphyat Township National League for Democracy in Shan State (East) U Sai Hon of Namlauk village and Joint-Secretary of Lewe Township NLD U Kyaw Maung Maung Lay resigned form the party of their own accord and sent their letter of resignation to the NLD Headquarters and authorities concerned on 31 January.

In the letter to Mongphyat Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Subcommision and Lewe Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommision, they said the reason why they quit the NLD was that they lost trust and interest in the party and its leaders.
