The Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department is taking measures regarding the death of fowls and birds in townships of Yangon Division.

Altogether ten crows, seven pigeons, one greater coucal, one dove and one myna were found dead in Ahlon, Yankin, Mingala Taungnyunt, Hline, Pabedan, South Okkalapa, North Okkalapa, Tamway and Thanlyin townships of Yangon Division on 6-3-2007. But no fowls and ducks were found dead in those townships.

According to the laboratory test, the dead birds showed no sign of avian flu.
