The National Convention is now being held for the emergence of an enduring State Constitution, as aspired by the people, and it will be completed soon.

Internal and external destructive elements are making synchronized attempts to disrupt the National Convention and bring the democratization process to a halt. In addition, they are leveling slanderous accusations against the government with the intention of misleading international community into misunderstanding Myanmar.

The Strategic Consultant Committee (SCC) formed with absconders, anti-government elements and remnant armed groups held a meeting at a resort in Melmat Township in the neighbouring

country from 21 to 23 February. It was attended by members of the NCGUB, NCUB, ENC, FDB, WLB, SYCB and remnant armed groups.

It adopted some subversive resolutions to make continued attempts to disrupt the government’s ongoing drive for building a peaceful, modern and developed democratic nation with flourishing discipline. The purpose of the meeting was just to undermine national solidarity and break up the Union. Simultaneously, they are resorting to various means to launch anti-government activities and commit destructive acts to incite mass demonstrations in the nation.

So, the entire national people are to be more vigilant against the ploys and subversive acts of certain internal and external elements anxious to deprive the nation of stability, peace and development, while providing information as soon as possible if there is something suspicious.
