In Myanmar each and every citizen enjoys fundamental rights in accord with own traditions, cultures and customs. The manifest characteristics of Myanma culture are forbearance, compassion and politeness. Myanmars are religious people and well established in four cardinal virtues, namely, loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy and equanimity. Under these fine traditions, followers of major religions have been living in the Union in unity and amity. Churches, mosques, temples and pagodas built in close proximity to each other and impartiality of races and religions reflect the objective condition of Myanmar. Some western powers in collusion with expatriates are leveling groundless accusations against Myanmar with every intention of disintegrating national solidarity and destabilizing the nation. Such sinister acts are aimed at harming the already-fostered friendships among followers of different faiths and misusing religion for political gains. Recently, based on made-up news stories of anti-government elements in the border, the neo-colonialists made a false report saying that there is lack of religious freedom in the nation. The endeavours of the government for national development, national unity and flourishing of different religions highlight the objective condition of the nation while the refutations of the respective religious organizations over the accusations of the US and its cohorts are witness to the fact that these accusations are totally wrong. Therefore, the government and the people are with national outlook to guard against the attempts to drive a wedge among religions while engaging in the drive for national solidarity and national development. |
