Three members of Maubin Township National League for Democracy of Ayeyawady Region — U Saw Maung, U Tin Sein and U Myint Lwin — quit the party of their own accord on 15 September.

They sent the letters of resignation to the NLD Headquarters and local authorities. In their letter sent to Maubin Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Sub-commission they said that NLD party did not engage in the party politics, the party was heading to commit acts harmful to the State and its people, and they had lost faith and trust in NLD and party leaders. That is why they resigned from the party of their own accord, they said.
