Maung Kyaw Min Htaik, member of ChaungU Township National League for Democracy of Sagaing Region, resigned from the NLD of his own accord on 12 September and sentresignation letters to the NLD headquarters and local authorities.

In his resignation letter sent to Sagaing Region Multi-party Democracy General Election Sub-Commission, he said that the NLD had never served the interests of the State and the people, and he quitted the party due to losing trust in the NLD and party leaders.
