Members of Sagaing Township National League for Democracy U Than Gyaung, U Tin Thaung and U Win Bo of Sagyin Village in Sagaing Region resigned from the NLD of their own accord on 17 July. They sent their letters of resignation to the Headquarters of NLD and local authorities.

In their resignation letter sent to Sagaing Region Multi-party Democracy General Election Sub-commission, they said owing to loss of trust in the party leaders, they had quit the NLD, which has committed the acts detrimental to the State and the people.
