Member U Aung Kyi of Myaung Township National League for Democracy of Sagaing Region resigned from the party of his own volition on 24 June, sending his resignation letter to NLD Headquarters and local authorities.

In his resignation letter sent to Sagaing Region Multi-party Democracy General Election Sub-commission, he said that he no longer wished to stand as a member of the party and lost confidence and respect in the party and its leaders. That was why he resigned from the party of his own volition, he said.
