Members of the Mawlamyinegyun Township National League for Democracy U Kyi Win, U Tun Naing, U Aung Saw, U Than Aung, U Myint Aung, U Pho La Pyae, U Win Kyi, U Aung Nyein, U Pho Tae, U Than Win and U Hla Aung resigned from the NLD party on 25 June.

They sent their resignation letters to the NLD Headquarters and local authorities concerned. In the letters they sent to Mawlamyinegyun Township Multi-party General Election Subcommission, they said that the NLD party had not served the interests of the State and the people. The acts of the NLD party showed that NLD wanted the country to become a colony of big countries. Therefore, they no longer wanted to become members of the party and resigned from the party of their own accord they said.
