Two members of Monywa Township National League for Democracy resigned from the party of their own accord on 20 September.

U Than and U Tun Kyi of Taw Pu Village in Monywa Township, Sagaing Division, sent their resignation letters to NLD headquarters and local authorities.

In the resignation letter sent to Monywa Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Sub-commission, they said they quit the NLD of their own volition as they were no longer interested in activities of the NLD.
