Nine members of Twantay Township National League for Democracy of Yangon Division including members U Win Myint, U San Kyi and U Hla Htay of Lakamon Village on 1 October, five members of Sagaing Township NLD including members U Yi, U Tin Win and U Thaung Shwe of Kyakhat Village and a total of 29 members of Yekyi Township NLD including U Ko Win, U Hla Myint, U Zaw Min Tun, U Thet Naing Htay and U Tin Nwe of Daungmadawt Village on 2 October resigned from the NLD of their own volition. They sent letters of resignation to the NLD Headquarters and local authorities.

In their letters sent to Twantay, Sagaing and Yekyi Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommissions, they said that they no longer wished to participate in the tasks of the NLD, and they resigned from the party of their own accord, they said.
