A total of 36 members of the Kengtung Township Nation League for Democracy in Shan State (East) including U Sai Sam, U Sai Tip, U Nan Sam, U Sai Yi, U Sai Lon Shan, Daw Nan Ait, Daw Nan Haung, U Sai Sike, U Aike, U Nan Oun Nwe and Daw Nan La Kap resigned form the NLD party of their own volition recently and they sent their resignation letters to the NLD Headquarters and local authorities.

In their resignation letters sent to the Kengtung Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Subcommission, they said that they had no longer accepted the acts of the party, losing faith in the party. That was why they resigned from the party of their own accord, they said.
