A ceremony to present letters of resignation of Mongpan Township Shan Nationalities League for Democracy members U Sai Ohn Kyaw, U Tun Aung, U Lon Sayay Laung and U Sai Ohn Pwint of Shan State (South) of their own volition to Mongpan Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Sub-commission was held at the sub-commission office in Mongpan on 25 September.

In the letters to the sub-commission, they said that they had lost interest in tasks of the SNLD. They no longer wished to join the SNLD, and that was why they resigned from the party, of their own accord.
