Sixty-four members including U Tun Tun, U Myint Aye, U Than Tun, U Htay Win, U Myint Tun and U Kyaw Aye of Labutta Township National League for Democracy in Ayeyawady Region resigned from the party of their own accord and sent letters of resignation to NLD Headquarters and authorities concerned on 27 July.

In the letter sent to Labutta Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Subcommission they said that they quit the NLD of their own volition as they no longer put their trust in the party and its leaders and do not support the party.
