A total of 11 members—U Ya Thaung of Wa Taw Ma village, U Khin Maung, Daw Sein Shwe, U Tat Pwa, Daw Thein Lwin, U Nyunt Lwin, U Thein Win, U Myint Swe, Daw Thein Aye, Daw Kywe and U Po Nya of Kaing Village of Ayadaw Township National League for Democracy of Sagaing Region resigned from NLD of their own accord on 19 June.

They sent their resignation letters to NLD headquarters and local authorities concerned.

They said in the letters sent to Sagaing Region Multi-party Democracy General Election Sub- commission, that they became fed up with the selfish acts of party's leaders and they no longer wished to be members of NLD owing to the acts detrimental to the State and the people. Therefore, they resigned from the party of their own volition.
