Six members of Sagaing Township National League for Democracy in Sagaing Division—U Khwe Nyo, U Tin Nyunt, U Aung Than, U Kyaw Nyunt, U Kaung Kyi and U Khin Maung of Yaykha Village, and member of Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana Township NLD U Soe Thura on 3 September submitted their resignation letters of their own accord to the NLD (HQ) and local administrative bodies.

The letters they sent to Sagaing Township and Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Commissions said that the activities of the NLD are absolutely unacceptable to them, and they no longer want to be members of the party, adding, they leave the party of their own volition.
