Two members of Sagaing Division National League for Democracy Party of Sagaing Division resigned from the party of their own accord on 25 July.

U San Lwin and U Win Bo of Sagaing Township NLD resigned from the party and sent their resignation letters to the NLD (Headquarters) and Sagaing Division Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommission. In the letters, they said the NLD (Central) is lack of definite political programme.

The leaders of the party are disunity and they are focusing on coming to power with self-interest. The party leaders are opportunists without political experience and the party never participate in carrying out regional development tasks. They no longer stand as members of the party, and that is why they resigned from the party, they said.
