Five members including U Tun Myaing of YeU Township on 27 July, U Kyi Soe of Ayadaw Township on 29 July, U Aung Gyi of Kawlin Township on 8 August, U Win Min Thu of Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana Township and U Kyauk Khwe of Sagaing Township on 4 September sent their resignation letters of their own accord to National League for Democracy Headquarters and local authorities concerned.

In their resignation letters sent to YeU, Ayadaw, Kawlin, Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana and Sagaing Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommissions, they said that they no longer wished to stand as members of the NLD, and they resigned from the party of their own volition.
