U Aung Naing, U Hla Wai and Daw San San Maw of Labutta Township National League for Democracy in Ayeyawady Division and U Tin Win of Salin Township NLD in Magway Division resigned from the party of their own accord on 2 August sending their resignation letters to the NLD Headquarters and local authorities concerned.

In the letters sent to Labutta and Salin Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Sub commissions, they said that they lost interest in the acts of the party and they no longer wished to remain as NLD members. That was why, they quit the party of their own volition, they said.
