Six members including U Myint Swe of Seikkyi Khanaungto Township National League for Democracy of Yangon Region on 7 June and seven members including U Kyi Win of Khathtiya village-tract of Einme Township NLD of Ayeyawady Region resigned from the party of their own accord on 10 June.

They sent letters of resignation to the NLD headquarters and local authorities concerned.

In the letters sent to Seikkyi Khanaungto and Einme Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Sub-commissions, they said NLD in collusion with internal and external destructive elements is undermining stability of the State, community peace and rule of law in various ways. In addition, ignoring development drives of the State, the party is committing acts that may subject the country and the people to the foreign domination. Therefore, they resigned from the party of their own volition.
