Forty members of Myaung, Sagaing, Mawlamyinegyun and Einme Township NLDs resign

Altogether 17 members of Myaung Township National League for Democracy including U Kyi Soe, U Kyi Win and U Maung Khine, eight members of Sagaing Township NLD including U Kan Nyunt, U Tun Shwe and U Tun Ngwe of Ywahtaung Ward, 14 members of Mawlamyinegyun Township NLD including U Soe Hla, U Ohn Min and U Hla Tin on 6 July, and member of Einme Township NLD U Khin Hlaing on 4 July resigned from the parties of their own volition, sending letters of resignation to the NLD Headquarters and local authorities concerned. In the letters of resignation sent to the Myaung Township, Sagaing Township, Mawlamyinegyun Township and Einme Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Sub commissions, they said that they fed up with the activities of the NLD as it does not stick to party politics only; that the local people looked down upon them as idle good-for-nothings, and that they would like to cooperate with the government in the national development tasks. Therefore, they resigned from the parties of their own volition. |
