43 members including U Myint Soe, U Saw Htoo, U Than Kywe, U Mya Lwin and U Hla Che of Kangyidaunt Township National League for Democracy, Ayeyawady Region, resigned from the party of their own accord sending their letters of resignation to NLD Headquarters and authorities concerned on 6 July.

In their letters sent to Kangyidaunt Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Subcommision, they said they no longer had trust and faith in the NLD party and they quit the party of their own volition as they wanted to participate in national development work by doing their bit.
