Member U San Win of Mohnyin Township National League for Democracy of Kachin State on 8 August, U Tun Shein on 10 August and U Sein Nyo on 12 August, member U Aung Gyi of Kawlin Township NLD of Sagaing Division on 8 August resigned from the NLD of their own volition, sending letters of resignation to the NLD Headquarters and respective local authorities.

In their letters sent to Mohnyin and Kawlin Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommissions, they said that they lost interest in acts of the party and they no longer wished to stand as a party member. That was why they resigned from the party of their own accord, they said.
