A total of 112 members including U Ohn Shwe, U Aung Shein, U Hla Tint, Daw Chaw Sein, Daw Khin Pyone, U Than Htay, U Myint Thein, U Thein Shwe, Daw Ohn Shwe and U Khin Win of Labutta Township National League for Democracy of Ayeyawady Division resigned from the party of their own volition on 10 August, ending letters of resignation to the NLD (Headquarters) and local authorities.

In their letters sent to Labutta Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommission, they said that they joined the party with the belief that the NLD will be a reliable one for the nation and the people.However, the party leaders are committing destructive acts only ith grudges, but not serving the interests of the nation and the people. That is why they resigned from the party of their own accord, they said.
