Three members U Hlaing Kyu, U Myint Aung and U Maung Maung Aye of Thayetchaung village of Taikkyi Township National League for Democracy of Yangon Division and 20 members including U Kaung Oo, U Kyar Thaw, U Thein Zaw, U Win Naung and U Tun Tun Oo of Sagaing Township NLD of Sagaing Division resigned from the party of their own volition on 20 September, sending their resignation letters to NLD Headquarters and local authorities.

In their resignation letters sent to Taikkyi and Sagaing Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommissions, they said that they no loner wished to stand as members. That was why they resigned from the party of their own volition, they said.
