Nowadays, the government is making all-out efforts for the emergence of a peaceful, modern, developed and discipline-flourishing democratic nation. As a constitution is indispensable for every independent nation the National Convention is being held for the drawing of the State constitution.

The National Convention was held in the years of 2004, 2005 and 2006. And detailed basic principles for the sharing of legislative, executive and judiciary powers to be included in the drawing of the State constitution have been laid down. The National Convention, which was adjourned on 29 December 2006, is reconvened on 18 July 2007 (today). The delegates have discussed and unanimously laid down basic principles and detailed basic principles for eight chapter headings out of 15 to be included in the State constitution.

At the National Convention in session the delegates will be able to finalize the discussions on detailed basic principles for the remaining seven chapter headings. The basic principles laid down by over 1,000 delegates putting national interest in the fore for the emergence of the State constitution will shape the future of the State and the people.
Thanks to concerted and well-coordinated efforts of the delegates and the respective sub-committees the State constitution will soon emerge shortly after the National Convention is completed.
