Seventy-two members of Ayadaw Township National League for Democracy of Sagaing Division including U Han Nyunt, U Win, Daw Hmat Shein, U Kyaw Lwin, U Than Hsaung, U Tin Thein, U Than Maung, U Aung Myint, U Kan Chun and U Hla Kyu of Wet Khe village-tract on 28 October sent their resignation letters to the NLD (Headquarters) and local authorities concerned.

The letters said that they believed that National Convention that had been completed could grant genuine democracy, adding that they no longer accepted the acts of the party and they resigned from the party of their own accord.
