Six members including U Chit Hsaing of Sagaing Township National League for Democracy, five members including Daw San San Win of Myaung Township NLD, Sagaing Region and three members including U Than Sein of Twantay Township NLD, Yangon Region, resigned from the party of their own accord and sent their letters of resignation to NLD (Headquarters) and authorities concerned on 12 July.

The letter sent to Sagaing, Myaung and Twantay Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommission, said that they quit the NLD of their own volition as they no longer wanted to support the party's political activities and stand, and they also did wish to stand as NLD members.
