A total of 43 members including U Maung Aye, U Chan Aye, U Hla Hsan, U Phoe Aung Tin, U Robert, U Tun Nyein, U Saw Kyar Htoo, U Saw Tin Shwe, U Naw Shwe Yin, U Maung Kan Aye, Daw Ma Ngwe, U Shwe Lay and U Ma Haw of Labutta Township National League for Democracy resigned from the party of their own volition, sending their resignation letters to NLD Headquarters and local authorities on 13 August.

In their resignation letters sent to Labutta Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommission, they said that they were disagreeable to NLD’s acts and lost confidence in the party and its leaders. That was why they resigned from the party of their own volition, they said.
