A total of 53 members of Sagaing Township National League for Democracy of Sagaing Division including U Tin Win of Nyaungbinwun Village, U Htay Aung of Myaingle Village, U Kyaw Tint of Ywathit Village, U Ka Byar of Maunghtaung Village, U Soe Myint of Meizalichaung Village, U Khin Maung Than of Kin Village, U Kho of Natkhayaing Village, U Ba Ohn of Lintalu Village, U Thaung Aye of Nondwin Village, U Khin Maung Win of Htonbo Village and U Aung Thein of Sayay Village on 10 September and U Win Soe of Thayagon Village of Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana Township NLD on 9 September sent letters of resignation to the NLD (Headquarters) and local authorities of their own accord.
In the resignation letters sent to Sagaing and Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommissions, they said that they lost interest in tasks of the NLD and they no longer wished to stand as members of the party. That was why they resigned from the party of their own volition, they said.
