Member U Min Thu of Palaw Township National League for Democracy of Myeik District, Taninthayi Division, resigned from the party of his own volition on 14 December, sending his resignation letter to local authorities concerned.

Similarly, members U Thein Htwe, U Kyaw Min Htoo and U Aung Tun of Dawbon Township NLD resigned from the party of their own volition on 17 December, sending their resignation letters to local authorities concerned. In their resignation letters sent to Palaw and Dawbon Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommissions, they said that they took no interest in NLD’s activities and political movement. That was why they resigned from the party of their own wishes, they said.
