A total of 10 members of Ayadaw Township National League for Democracy of Sagaing Region including U Paw Tin, U Daung Htoo, U Pho Thaing, U Hmway and U Hsan of Naunggyi-aing Village, U Cho and U Aung Yi of Aungthukha Village, U Chit Than and U Tin Maung Shwe of Bonletkhat Village resigned from the NLD on their own accord on 11 May and they sent resignation letters to the NLD Headquarters and local authorities.

In their resignation letters sent to Ayadaw Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommission, they said that they had lost trust and faith in the NLD and they were not interested in activities of the party. That is why they resigned from the NLD of their own volition.
