Five members of the Myaung Township National League for Democracy of Sagaing Region resigned from the party on 16 June.

Those who resigned from NLD are U Bo Kyaw, U Myo Tint, Ma Aye Aye Khaing, U Nyunt Shein and U Swe Nyein of Mayogon Village, Myaung Township.

They sent their resignation letters to NLD Headquaters and local authorities. In the letters sent to Sagaing Division Multiparty Democracy General Election Sub-Commissions, they said that NLD party entirely relies on other big countries and actions of the party are leading to make the country in servitude to other country. They do not believe that some NLD leaders relying on foreign assistance can serve the interest of the nation and the people if they get power. These are the reasons why they resigned from the party, they said.
