Member of Myaung Township National League for Democracy in Sagaing Region U Myint Swe resigned from the NLD of his own accord on 16 June by sending his resignation letter to the NLD (HQ) and local administrative bodies.

In the letter sent to Sagaing Region Multi-Party Democracy General Election Sub-commission, he said that he no longer wished to be an NLD member as the party, instead of doing party politics only, blocking the interests of the nation and the people and making the nation a lackey nation of foreign countries, with many factions in the party. So, he made up his mind to leave the party of his own volition, he added.
