Fourteen members of Labutta Township National League for Democracy in Ayeyawady Region including U Myint Win, U Tin Win, U San Myint, U Maung Maung Kyi and U Hla Kyi on 21 June delivered their resignation letters to the NLD (HQ) and local administrative bodies of their own volition.

In the letter sent to Ayeyawady Region Multi-party General Election Subcommission, they said that they no longer put trust and reliance on the NLD because it had never served the interests of the nation and the people; that the longer they remained NLD members, the deeper their lives would subside to the bottom; and that therefore they left the party of their own accord.
