Member U Khin Maung Lay of Yamethin Township National League for Democracy of Mandalay Division resigned from the party of his own volition, sending his resignation letter to NLD Headquarters and local authorities on 20 August.

In his resignation letter sent to Yamethin Township Multi-party Democracy General Election Subcommission, he said that he took no interest in NLD’s acts and no longer wished to stand as NLD member. That was why he resigned from the party of his own volition, he said.
