Two members of Myaung Township, Sagaing Region, National League for Democracy Party resigned from the party of their own volition on 23 June.

U Thein Zaw and other member of Myaung Township NLD sent their resignation letters to the Headquarters of the National League for Democracy Party and local administrative bodies.

In the letters sent to Sagaing Region Multi-party Democracy General Election Sub-commission, they said that they no longer put trust and reliance on leaders of the National League for Democracy Party as the party opposed the government in complicity with internal and external destructive elements. This was the reason why they left the party of their own accord, they said.
