71 members resign from Kangyidaung
Township National League for Democracy as they fed up with the NLD's acts designed to undermine the State

As many as 71 members of Kangyidaung Township National League for Democracy of Pathein District, Ayeyawady Region including U Tun Tin, U Win Myint, U Aung Kyi Thein, U Tin Hlaing, U Ko Thein, U Tet Tun, U Khin Kyaing, U Hla Myint, U Myint Thein and U Than Naing on 17 July resigned from the NLD party of their own volition, sending letters of resignation to the NLD Headquarters and local authorities concerned.

In their letter of resignation sent to the Kangyidaung Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Sub-commission, they said that the NLD is sticking to demanding power, ignoring national consolidation and unity among democracy forces; and that they were fed up with the NLD's acts leading to undermining the State and the people and wanted to join hands with the government for national development. That was why they resigned from the party of their own volition, they said.
