Two members U Tin Maung and U Ba Shein of Mohnyin Township National League for Democracy of Kachin State resigned from the party of their own volition, sending their resignation letters to NLD Headquarters and local authorities on 25 August.

In their resignation letters sent to Mohnyin Township Multi- party Democracy General Election Subcommission, they said that they took no interest in the acts of NLD. That was why they resigned from the party of their own volition, they said.
