1. According to the Sub-section (a), Section 4, Chapter 2 of the Referendum Law for the Approval of the Draft Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar 2008, the Meeting 6/2008 of the Commission for Holding Referendum that was held on 9 April decided to hold the Referendum on 10 May 2008 to seek approval for the draft constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

2. In accord with the decision of the meeting, it is hereby announced that the Referendum will be held on 10 May 2008 for enabling the people to approve the draft constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
