Referendum for Approval of Constitution held in Shan State (East)

The Referendum for the Approval of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar took place simultaneously in 10 townships of Shan State (East) on 10th May morning.

People cast votes at 504 polling stations in the state from 6 am to 4 pm. Members of Commission for Holding Referendum U Saing Ye and U Arh Le and Chairman of Shan State (East) Sub-commission U Mya Aung and members visited polling station No 1 in Ward (1), polling station No 1 in Ward (2), polling station No 1 in Ward (3), polling station No 1 in Ward (4) , polling station No1 in Ward (5), polling station No 1 in Kettaung Village and polling station No 1 at the fork of Yanlu street of Minezin Village-tract.

In the evening, polling station officers and members inspected ballot boxes, counting of ballot papers. Polling station officers packed votes-in-favor, votes-against and cancelled votes into separate bundles and presented them to the ward and village-tract sub-commissions.
