22 May — A delegation led by Mr Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary-General , arrived here by air today.

They were welcomed at Yangon International Airport by Minister for Foreign Affairs U Nyan Win, Director-General U Kyaw Kyaw of Protocol Department, UN Acting Resident Representative Mr Daniel B Baker and officials concerned. The UN Secretary- General singed the Book of Condolences opened for images and losses of life due to the storm ‘Nargis’ at Shin Dithapamauk Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Later, the UN Secretary-General and delegation members paid homage to Shwedagon Pagoda and made cash donation.
