Swine flu A/H1N1 has broken out in the world since 17 April. So far, the swine flu has infected 1490 people and killed 31and the virus has spread to 21 countries including Mexico, said the announcements released by WHO on 5 May. The Ministry of Health has been taking preventive measures against the swine flu since 25 April as it may be transformed into global human flu. The Ministry of Health has carried out preventive measures against the outbreak of the swine influenza (A/H1N1) in Myanmar, made preparations for keeping a constant watch on the virus and medical treatment, provided medicines and medical equipment and laboratory apparatus to the hospital and prepared the special care units wards at the hospitals for emergency use. With regard to the situations of outbreak of swine flu, the preventive measures and dissemination of health knowledge are being released to the people through TV, radio and dailies in time. Since 19 April, the visitors have been screened at airports, seaports and borders. Up to now, there has been no case of swine flu in Myanmar, according to the Ministry of Health. |
