251 drug-related cases exposed in March

The Tatmadaw, the Myanmar Police Force and the Customs Department exposed 251 drug-related cases in March 2009.

Seizure of the drug-related cases were 34.9471 kilos of opium in 69 cases, 27.7352 kilos of heroin in 66 cases, 0.1858 kilo of opium oil in eight cases, 13.9173 kilos of low-grade opium in 14 cases, 79.3886 kilos of marijuana in 19 cases, 3,084,427 stimulant tablets in 58 cases, 332.0075 kilos of opium speciosa, 270.4 kilos of stimulant powder, 25 kilos of Ephedrine, one litre of opium speciosa liquid, 12.7 kilos of Caxin, 600 capsules of tramadol in one case, 340 tablets of Ativan, 90 tablets of diazepam in one case, 39,120 tablets of Alprazolam in one case, 86 litres of chemical liquid, 17 kilos of chemical precursors and other one case.

Action was taken against 368 persons—291 men and 77 women— in 251 cases.
